Qld: Conservatives remarry after two years
The Queensland Liberal and National parties have signed a coalition deal, ending twoyears of separation.
The two parties split after Labor's February 2001 election landslide win, vowing tospend time rebuilding their grass-roots support.
Under today's deal, Liberal leader BOB QUINN is the new shadow treasurer and deputycoalition leader, but Nationals frontbencher JEFF SEENEY will retain the title of Oppositiondeputy leader.
The coalition is also expecting to receive an extra $500,000 to put on new staff, butPremier PETER BEATTIE has yet to agree to the boost.
Opposition leader LAWRENCE SPRINGBORG says the coalition is back in town.
A reshuffled Opposition frontbench will be announced next week.
