Captain Ricky Ponting will miss Australia's three-match, limited overs cricket series against Bangladesh starting later this month while he recovers from wrist surgery, Cricket Australia said Friday.
Michael Clarke will captain Australia in Ponting's absence for the matches scheduled for Aug.30, Sept 3 and Sept. 6 in the northern city of Darwin.
Clarke, 27, led Australia in two one-day internationals against the West Indies last month after Ponting's early return home.
