BANGKOK (AP) — News reports say a pickup truck filled with travelers collided with a bus in northeastern Thailand, killing 12 people.
The Bangkok Post newspaper says 12 people in the pickup died at the scene Saturday in Buriram province, about 250 miles (400 kilometers) northeast of Bangkok. It says four others were seriously injured — one in the pickup truck and three in the bus.
Thailand's government news service reported that 94 people died in traffic accidents throughout the country on Thursday and Friday, the first two days of weeklong New Year holidays.
The Road Safety Center says drunk driving was the most common cause of the accidents.
